What's SUPERAntiSpyware and is it any good

Sep 05, 2009, 01:56 PM [Reply]

The market of antispyware applications is fiercely competitive. Alongside old, world-renowned manufacturers (Lavasoft, Spyware Doctor, Sunbelt CounterSpy) there's a whole lot new products. Many of them are cheap imitations, many simple under deliver, but there are surprisingly good applications available.

One of them by all means is SUPERAntiSpyware. Despite strikingly suspicious name, it really has quite something to impress with.

1. Unbelievably low memory footprint – under 400KB in idle mode. I cannot guarantee that this is the lowest in the industry, but it definitely is close to being that.
2. Stable, reliable platform. Perfect coding makes this program an ideal companion to any antivirus program, it works together with avast!, Kaspersky, Norton, McAfee, G-Data, F-Secure as if it would have been developed by these vendors themselves.
3. Real-time protection. Just about every commercial antispyware has a similar feature, but it's not the name that matters, it's how the algorithms are coded. SUPERAntiSpyware effectively prevents Windows computers from being infected with Conficker, Virtumonde, Vundo and other notoriously known Trojans and rootkits. I know very well that antispyware market leaders (e.g. Spyware Doctor) and many antivirus programs miss these kinds of malware. That is, they do not protect and often cannot detect latest threats. And it doesn't really matter if your PC is protected by any Internet Security Suite or Total Protection, these are just marketing tricks to entice customers.
4. SUPERAntiSpyware can repair broken Internet connection, Network settings, desktop and Command Prompt features.

After testing a huge amount of security programs I came across a very reliable combination: avast! Professional + SUPERAntiSpyware Professional. That does not mean other vendors are worse. Of course not. But there's always a place for some bug, minor glitch, etc. In this case, a smooth operation is nearly guaranteed (on a non-damaged Windows).
