Y’all don’t know this yet, but Mila Kunis is one of the awesomest parts of the generally awesome Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which most of the public should finally be getting to see at SXSW sometime soon. I never watched her on That 70’s Show and I’m not a huge Family Guy person, so I was late to the Kunis game when I saw Sarah Marshall. But the girl is funny, beautiful, and kind of bad-ass, and is deserving of her on-screen flirtation with Jason Segel, which would normally just make me jealous.
Now she’s teaming up with yet another actor I’d fight her for. She’s starring opposite Mark Wahlberg in Max Payne, a vigilante drama based on a video game. Wahlberg plays the title character, an ex-cop haunted by the deaths of his family who gets caught up in a conspiracy plot. According to Variety, Kunis will play an assassin who teams up with Payne to avenge her sister’s death.
In a word: Awesome. Female assassins not played by Angelina Jolie are pretty hard to come by, and no matter how silly a video game movie is, a female assassin who’s not just entirely a sex object is always awesome. Granted, we can’t prove this part is anything more than being a sex object, but a girl can dream. It’s a bold decision for Kunis as well, given that she’s been known for roles in romantic comedies thus far. Can she be an ass-kicker and a heart-melter at the same time? Compared to most other actresses her age, I’m pretty excited to see her try.
