Terminator: Salvation Is Now Without A Title

Terminator: Salvation Is Now Without A Title Thus far no one is exactly dying of excitement over the planned new Terminator movie, at least not the way people are salivating over the next Star Trek or even Mummy movie. Maybe that’s because of the unwieldy and mostly meaningless title? Well, that’s what Warner Bros. seems to be hoping; they’ve dropped the title Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, and the movie is now officially nameless.

ComingSoon.net reported the news, and the site’s commenters all jumped in with a series of comments that basically amounted to “This movie is going to suuuuuuck.” Well, fair enough. Terminator 3 definitely left a bad taste in the mouths of many fans back in 2003, and even though writers John Brancato and Michael Ferris have claimed they’re aiming for a new start for the series (therefore not titling the movie Terminator 4), no one seems to have much faith in the thing.

So does this mean that they’re backtracking and actually will call the movie Terminator 4, or are they simply coming up with a less awkward, more logical title? I’m leaning toward the latter, though I still don’t necessarily have any faith in this movie. Yes, it has Christian Bale, but it doesn’t have James Cameron, Arnold, or anyone who made the first two movies worth watching. Still, you’ve got to give the people behind this movie credit for not sticking with a totally lame title, at least until they rename it Quantum of Solace or Terminator of the Future: At World’s End.
