Note: the album cover is one of the sickest and more disturbing images I have lay my eyes upon, so consider that you won't be able to get it out of your head before seeing it. You've been warned. To see the album cover go here
Impaled is a death metal band from the US strongly influenced by bands such as Carcass and Cannibal Corpse. As it could be expected, the result is a Saw movie converted to music: bloody, sick and incredibly twisted.
"The Last Gasp" is a really good album and it is a lot more melodic than one would think after seeing the cover. The music is filled with incredible guitar riffs, insane vocals, dynamic drum playing and effective bass lines. In an overcrowded field as death metal, "The Last Gasp" is simply a blessing (or damnation?) and a very enjoyable ride. It is fun to explore the creative ideas of unstable sick minds, just avoid getting lost in their corrupted world...enjoy the bloodbath!...

Song: "The Visible Man"
[music - Sean McGrath, lyrics - Ross Sewage]
Deoxyribonucleic acid
Blueprint for life
Human genetic information
Causatum of strife
Polymer of nucleotides
Map every point
Sequencing the protein code
Ours to exploit
Encoding the chromosomes
A DNA bank
Profiling every base pair
Forensic mountebank
Codons replication to regulate
Data in slumber
Every man, woman, child
We've got your number
Humanity we'll dissect
Inhumane genome project
Encoding all that we can
Creating the visible man
Collecting every string
For tracking everything
Patenting all your genes
For vending your being
[solo: "DNA, RNA, the AMA, and an MBA" - S.C. McGrath]
Samples biological, questions philosophical
Privatizing eugenics to control the amoral
Ambitions are transfixed on the double helix
Bereft of a paddle, you're headed up the river Styx
Civil liberties exsiccate, driven by your fear
Fingerprints of disease and disorders engineered
Aggregating profiles of your Achilles' heels
Corporeal confidentials are ours to steal
Will of the Rxxx
Inhumane genome project
Fleecing all with our plan
Controlling the visible man
