Matt Damon Packs On Pounds For New Role

Jun 14, 2008, 06:02 PM [Reply]

Would we all still want to be f----ing Matt Damon if he were a bit chubbier? Well, yeah. Who can resist those pinchable cheeks and that easy smile?! Damon's giving us a bit of an idea of what he might look like on a diet of hamburgers on the set of his new movie, The Informant. Playing Mark Whitacre, a real-life whistleblower who helped the FBI investigate his company, Damon has either put on some pounds or is wearing a fat suit to fit the role.

In the photos available over at JustJared, you can see Damon looking fit to be a corporate executive, and not Jason Bourne, or an international movie star for that matter. Much of the weight is probably added just by the ill-fitting clothing-- hey, bigshot executives don't have time to dress properly!

The Informant is based on a book written about the events by New York Times reporter Kurt Eichenwald, who has told many fascinating stories in that paper. And Whitacre wasn't your usual high-minded whistleblower-- he later served time in prison for embezzling money from the company he ratted out to the FBI. It sounds like it can make a great movie, and given how Damon has committed his body to the role, he seems likely to pull it off. Check out a few of the photos below, or see the rest at JustJared.
