Hi,
You can change bitcomet's processes to higher prioriity, to give them more cpu time, if you open task manager, look in "processes" tab, then identify any related to bitcomet, but "if" this helps, it will only be covering the symptom by throwing more resources at it.
You can also adjust your cache size to require less harddrive access.
Here are a couple alternatives you can try.
1. Edit your windows startup, removing any program that isn't used EVERY time windows starts. Most software publishers feel their software is important enough to load into memory when windows starts, even if you only use it once a year, its still starting and running in the background. Some of the worst offenders I've seen are webcams.
Go to "start" and find the "run" command, type "msconfig" and run. This will let you remove any processes from startup.
There are also free programs that can do this for you. EasyCleaner (by tonyarts) is a good one I've used.
When you remove all the unneeded processes, this problem may be resolved.
Also note, by removing a process, it doesn't mean you can't run that program, it just will take a minute or two longer to run when you first start it.
If all else fails, and your only using BitComet for torrents, then you may like to try version .70. This is the latest version of the classic Bitcomet, and is considered most stable by many.
