In just a week David Arquette’s sophomore directorial effort, a slasher with Ronald Reagan as the psycho killer called The Tripper, hits theaters. Yesterday he spoke to Weekly Blend Audio Show host Rafe Telsch about the project, and revealed that once he’s done promoting it, he’s planning a vacation. Oh, and he’s also making his own Braveheart.

Arquette said, “I’m writing something at the moment, that’s a little more in the Braveheart world.” I know, that blew my mind too. David Arquette doing a movie about Scottish warriors. Well, not exactly. He adds, “It’s about love, but it has a violent element the way Braveheart did.” Alright, now I’ll admit I have no idea what that means, but I’m curious. Is the movie actually a period battle movie, or is it simply as brutal as Braveheart was? Arquette was hesitant to share more, so we’ll have to wait till he’s ready to open up.

Meanwhile, in the same interview Arquette revealed that he already has a plan for Tripper 2 if the first one does well enough. For the second one he’ll take his dirty hippy killing Ronald Reagan to the infamous Burning Man. He’s already got a name for it. Tripper 2: The Burning Bush.
