How to assemble resources from the start?

Nov 03, 2008, 08:12 AM [Reply]

Three basic resources: iron, lumber and crop. Upgrade iron mine, forest and cropland, you will get higher production. And you should be aware of population also, because enough citizens ensure the construction.

  • Have you tried the game out yet? It is just a simple nice game where you obtain resources, build a city and then an army, after go have fun and destroy enemy cities. This game is pretty fun and you should try it out.

  • I think he means that in this day in time, kids don't imagine things like they use too and just think about graphics and more animations.

This is probably because of the new technology that has came out for us. Back then they had to imagine that a square a block was something else.

  • What i mean is that you need some imagination for text based games. Like when you are reading a book.

Have you read Lord Of The Rings before it ever came out in the cinemas?

Or played M.U.D multi user dungeons on telnet?

no graphics, just text, but addicting :)

  • I did read LOTR, and IMHO it was amasing.

also this idea isn't original, but due to some balances it makes it more addictive than other similar games.

Also, considering the large number of people that browse the Inet, only a fraction must like this game, and it is enough, there is no such thing as a perfect game(note: if you are planning to give me examples of perfect games, most probably gold ones, find out that there are people who do NOT like them)

How to use "convert resource" button?

  • you press the convert resource button, you move the sliders to adjust quantity ratios, and you are done :)

    TIPS:

1.It's useless unless you have an excess of resources of one type (ex too much grain, and you need lumber or iron)

2.also useless for small quantities, you get more resources by buying.

If I had to do it all over, I would have focused on 1. lumber, 2. iron, and 3. residence, since you can't improve your lumber and iron production without it.

If you get these two up quickly, then you won't be tied down waiting for resources to build a number of other things. If you focus on getting the iron, lumber and residence to 20, everything else will go much quicker.

Obviously, you can't start building an army with crop, but if you are under newbie protection, then who cares. I am not convinced that creating a huge army to protect your capital is wise, anyways. So long as you keep your resources spent and in your treasury, you shouldn't lose out too much on invading armies.

The reality is you are going to be attacked. People are stupid and fight to the death for no particular reason. They often waste more resources trying to steal yours than they actually get from stealing.

Unfortunately, they aren't smart enough to wait until they have enough plunderers to make off with a few hundred thousand units. If you focus on being able to generate resources quickly, these people are a minor problem.

For example... RoongRoong likes to attack weak players, but his army is small. It is something like 7 calvary, and 20 plunderers. He wastes his time, because the resources he gets (25k each) come quicker by doing nothing. If he took some time to build up his army, he could focus on getting a decent score that would help his city improvement at a much greater rate.
