HOLLYWOOD - R&B star Bobby Brown denies he suffered a heart attack on Tuesday--insisting he went to the hospital for a checkup.

The 38-year-old singer felt chest pains and tingling in his arm on Tuesday afternoon and was taken to Tarzana Regional Medical Center in California by his manager/girlfriend Alicia Etheredge.

His spokeswoman Paedra Parks said he had suffered a "mild heart attack."

But Brown denies the reports, insisting his doctor gave him a "clean bill of health."

He says, "None of it's true. I did go to the hospital...to just get a checkup, get everything tested out so that I could go on this tour, and everything is fine.

"I don't know where the heart attack thing came from. I got my heart and everything checked out earlier this morning, and I'm just fine."
