ALT + Tab = Switch between windows

ALT, Space, X = Maximize window

CTRL + Shift + Esc = Task Manager

Windows key + Break = System properties

Windows key + F = Search

Windows key + D = Hide/Display all windows

Shift+Windows+M = Undo minimize all open windows

Windows+F1 = Open Windows Help

Windows+Tab = Cycle through the Taskbar buttons

Right SHIFT for eight seconds = Switch FilterKeys on and off.

Left ALT +left SHIFT +PRINT SCREEN = Switch High Contrast on and off.

Left ALT +left SHIFT +NUM LOCK = Switch MouseKeys on and off.

SHIFT = five times Switch StickyKeys on and off.

NUM LOCK = for five seconds Switch ToggleKeys on and off.

ALT+ENTER = View the properties for the selected item

ALT+ESC = Cycle through items in the order that they had been opened

SHIFT+F10 = Display the shortcut menu for the selected item

CTRL+ESC = Display the Start menu

SHIFT (when you insert a CD-ROM) = Prevent the CD-ROM from automatically playing.

BACKSPACE (In Windows Explorer) = Open a folder one level up.

Windows key+ L =Lock the keyboard

Windows key+U = Open Utility Manager

CTRL+O (Open a saved console)
CTRL+N (Open a new console)
CTRL+S (Save the open console)
CTRL+M (Add or remove a console item)
CTRL+W (Open a new window)
F5 key (Update the content of all console windows)

You can make the desktop Icon transparent. Just follow:-
Go to Control Panel > System, > Advanced > Performance area > Settings button > Visual Effects tab and then check on "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the Desktop"
